David Beckham and Andy Murray both missed out on a knighthood in the New Year’s Honours List.
Murray was made an OBE last year after his Olympic gold medal and was tipped for a possible knighthood after winning Wimbledon this year.
Former footballer David Beckham also missed out on a knighthood. He was made an OBE in 2003 and was tipped for a further honour following his retirement this year and the work he did on the London 2012 Olympics bid.
