New voice for consumers on housing

A NEW umbrella group of five property lawyers – who between them represent 22 per cent of the housing market in Edinburgh, Lothians, Fife and the Borders – has been launched to give consumers a voice on housing market issues.

Operating as “The Plain Talking Property Group”, the firms – Lints, Neilsons, VMH, Warners and Drummond Miller – aim to highlight legislative changes and communicate the public’s problems in buying property to lenders.

The group insists it will not be a rival to the Edinburgh Solicitors Property Centre.

Phil Valente of VMH Solicitors said: “The ESPC provides the best vehicle for showcasing properties for sale but you can’t expect them also to take on issues and concerns in the property market.”
