Online offer is the ideal gift

A COMPUTER charity which encourages over-50s to learn IT skills has launched a Christmas offer to bring in more members.

Third Age Computer Club allows those who have either no or limited experience with the internet and other forms of computer technology to learn new skills.

It is aimed at giving the older generation more options both for everyday life, and even additional skills for employment prospects.

The organisation is offering a £25 subscription for the year, pointing out that it may be a useful Christmas present.

Third Age has won praise from judges in various awards ceremonies, and is a popular resource for older people across the Lothians.

A spokeswoman for the group, which also encourages pensioners to try out social networking sites, said: “Sessions are tailored to individual needs with one-to-one learning. If someone is housebound, volunteers can teach people at home.”
