Officers step up hunt for killer of 'Kevin the Gerbil'

THE hunt for eye-witnesses to the killing of Kevin "the Gerbil" Carroll will expand today as Strathclyde Police flood the scene of the crime with leaflets.

The notorious gangster was shot dead exactly one week ago today at the Asda supermarket in Robroyston, Glasgow.

Three masked gunmen shot the father of two five times as he sat in the back seat of a black Audi outside the busy shop, before fleeing the scene in a Volkswagen Golf. The Golf was discovered abandoned in Airdrie last Friday.
