PROPOSALS have been made to twin Dunbar with Narnia

Officials are exploring the possibility of linking the East Lothian town with the real life Narnia, a mountain town in Italy, which was said to have inspried the name of CS Lewis’s mystical land.

The link between the two towns started in the Second World War, when The Lothians and Border Horse (2nd Lothians), a Yeomanry regiment of the British Territorial Army based in Dunbar, became the first to liberate the ancient town, following the Battle of Monte Cassino.
