SPANISH second tier side CD Lugo have unveiled their new kits for the 2014/15 season - and they’re a bit different.

Lugo are sponsored by local brewery Estrella Galicia, founded in 1906 by Jose Maria Rivera Corral, following his return from travelling in Cuba and Mexico.

As a result, one of the kits has been designed to look like a glass of beer (if you ignore the black sleeves and side panels), complete with bubbles.

A popular local delicacy in the Galician city is octopus, so naturally the other kit has a large, realistic octopus tentacle emblazoned on the front.

Spanish clubs have become known for outlandish kit design in recent years.

Thanks to their sponsorship deal with fast-food chain Burger King, Getafe famously sported kits that had a picture of the actual ‘Burger King’ on the inside of the shirt, that doubled as a ‘mask’ if a player pulled the shirt over their face Ravanelli-style after scoring.

Spanish third tier outfit La Hoya Lorca paid tribute to one of the chief exports of the Murcia region by designing a ‘broccoli’ kit while Lugo’s Liga Adelante rivals Recreativo went for a ‘Minnie Mouse’ away kit for last season (red with white polka dots).

And who could forget Athletic Bilbao’s ‘Guggenheim splatter’ kit in 2004?
