A car has been left wedged into the basement of a tenement building in Edinburgh after skidding on ice early this morning.
The black Seat car is understood to have crashed through railings after skidding on ice while the driver looked for a parking space.
Neighbours described a horrendous noise when the car smashed down into the basement area of the property on Saxe-Coburg street at around 7am this morning.
The driver was checked over by ambulance staff but did not require hospital treatment, and no one within the occupied property was injured..
A recovery truck removed the badly damaged vehicle at around 11.30am.
