OAP fined for hurling abuse

A PENSIONER has been hit with a fixed penalty notice for a breach of the peace after being abusive to police and members of the public in the street.

Police said the 72-year-old man was detained in the High Street in Prestonpans at around 6pm on 2 April.

Officers took the pensioner back to his home following the incident.

On the previous day, officers patrolling in Prestonpans charged a 45-year-old man from the town with possession of drugs.
