Nowhere to Hyde for John on leg of charity relay read

SCOTTISH actor John Shedden was dressed for the part when he joined in a charity relay reading of Robert Louis Stevenson’s Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde at Deacon Brodie’s Tavern.

Proceeds from the event were going towards the Royal National Institute of Blind People Scotland’s campaign to highlight the need for more books to be available in formats such as audio, braille and large print.

The event was part of the RNIB’s Read for a Day fundraising event, which saw book lovers all over the UK take part.

Every day 100 people in the UK start losing their sight, and the money raised will be used to pay for birthday books for children in special formats, as well as talking newspapers, braille classes for children and braillenote machines, allowing someone with sight loss the chance to read and write on their own again.
