Northern Irish chemist set to rebrand high street pharmacy

A pharmacy in Musselburgh has changed hands and will undergo a rebrand.

The Apple pharmacy on the East Lothian town’s High Street has been snapped up by Northern Ireland-based Gordons Chemist.

David Higgins, associate director at property firm Christie & Co’s Edinburgh office, who handled the sale, said: “Gordons’ purchase of this unit takes their total number of pharmacies in Scotland to nine, along with the 52 units they have in Northern Ireland. Their presence in what is already a very busy High Street will undoubtedly be welcomed by the local community.”

John Clark, managing director of Gordons Chemist, said: “The acquisition from Apple of its Musselburgh store highlights our commitment to community pharmacy in Scotland. The store has been newly refitted, providing more retail space and an enhanced product range. We now look forward to offering the East Lothian public a first-class pharmacy service along with retail products.”
