No injuries at power station

STAFF and contractors at Torness power station have been congratulated after achieving more than 1000 days without an injury at work.

Bosses said that it had been more than 1000 days since the last “lost-time incident” at the station, the equivalent of around 2.5 million hours worked without injury.

Station director Paul Winkle said: “Safety is always our number one priority at Torness and is very much part of our culture.”
