No hiding for illegal staff

THE UK Border Agency has warned it will continue a crackdown on illegal working in Scotland into the New Year.

During 2010, more than 163 businesses in Scotland were given civil penalties for employing illegal workers, with fines totalling almost 1.7 million.

Those hit included an Edinburgh supermarket, issued with a 15,000 penalty notice.
