Scots Family Legends is published by the Scottish Book Trust and the BBC and features 68 stories selected from more than 700 entries, submitted by people of all ages and walks of life.

Nine writers from the Capital have work included in the book, including Margherita Still and Sheila Masson. Tales about the city include the story of Leith fishwives who saved an Italian ice-cream shop proprietor from a vigilante mob, and an account of the Romany who became a muse of painter Samuel Peploe.
