Newly merged college picks first principal

THE newly-formed Edinburgh College that was created through the merger of three Lothian colleges has unveiled its first principal.

Mandy Exley, the current principal and chief executive at Jewel and Esk College, will take up the role when Edinburgh College launches on October 1.

Ms Exley said: “The creation of Edinburgh College is about a journey from good to great. The three existing colleges are really good in their own right but together, they can deliver great results.

“We have an opportunity to deliver skilled people needed in those economic sectors where Scotland can enjoy a genuine competitive 
advantage.”
