Friends of Yulia Solodyankina, who was studying at Edinburgh University, have pledged their continued support in the search for the missing woman who vanished in June this year.

The 23-year-old was last spotted on CCTV footage at Glasgow’s Buchanan Street Bus Station on 7 June, where officers believed she boarded a bus heading to the north-west.

Despite several potential sightings as far afield as the Isle of Mull, the search for the Moscow-born dancer has proved unsuccessful so far.

Police have been criticised for the lack of information they have given to the public during the search.

Dedicated friends say they are still looking for Ms Solodyankina and they “have not forgotten her”.

Graham Clark wrote an impassioned statement on the “Yulia is Missing” Facebook page.

He said: “We are still looking for Yulia. It has been over six months since she went missing and her friends and family have not forgotten her. We need to know that she is safe and well. Our thoughts are with her family in Russia at this difficult time.”

Maria Laverty added: “Thinking of Yulia today and every day.” Another, James Campbell, said: “Wishing you well wherever you are, Yulia. I hope you are safe.”

Ms Solodyankina disappeared from her city centre flat, leaving behind her wallet and mobile phone, before being sighted in Glasgow later the same day.

She had failed the final year of her degree, which prompted concern that her results led to her disappearance.

At the time of her disappearance, Yulia’s boyfriend, Antoine Dao, said she was “very worried” during her exams.

Yulia’s parents, Ekatarina and Dmitry have made pleas for their daughter to come home.
