New Tesco store stocks up on workers from local area

A NEW Tesco Express store has opened in Queensferry Road, hiring new staff from the local community.

Regular store opening hours will be 6am until 11pm, seven days a week.

Tesco said its 11 new posts created by the opening of the store had gone to applicants who live in the local area.

The premises will have a free cash machine, mobile top-up facilities, National Lottery, bakery, two self-service tills and customer parking spaces.

Store manager Gary Thompson said there had been plenty of applicants to the roles.

He said: “The quality of candidates was excellent and in this time of economic uncertainty, it is great that we are able to create jobs for our local community.

“I am really pleased with my new team and I’m looking forward to working with them.”
