New surgery technique is top of the ops

HEALTH Secretary Nicola Sturgeon was at the Western General hospital yesterday to meet dad-of-two Paul Nearn, who is to become one of the first patients in Scotland to benefit from a pioneering form of precise radiosurgery.

Paul, who was joined by Dr Sara Erridge, consultant clinical oncologist at The Cancer Centre, is to undergo treatment to repair abnormal blood vessels in his brain, using the groundbreaking new system.
