New road layout is here to stay

Following a successful trial, a new road layout is to be made permanent from Monday.

The works – a dedicated lane merge layout for the on-slip from Hermiston Roundabout on the eastbound A720 city bypass – represent a total investment of £55,000 by Transport Scotland.

The installation of the permanent road markings will be carried out for four consecutive nights from Monday and the work is expected to be completed on Friday morning.

These operations will be carried out largely between the hours of 7.30pm and 5.30am so as to minimise disruption.

Traffic will be diverted via the Calder Junction and motorists are warned that slight delays are forecast.
