New focus on adoption

Volunteers are being sought to change children’s lives by adopting.

Midlothian Council are seeking to increase the number of people deciding to adopt.

Speaking at the beginning of National Adoption Week, Councillor Jack Aitchison, cabinet member for social work, said: “I’d urge anyone interested to come forward and start the process of learning more about what’s involved. It can be a daunting process but the rewards for children and families are tremendous”
