New chief at theatres

The Festival City Theatres Trust has announced that Duncan Hendry is set to become the new chief executive.

Mr Hendry will take over the running of the trust, which is responsible for running both the Festival and King’s Theatres in Edinburgh, from April 2.

He has more than 20 years’ experience of the arts, and since 2004 has been chief executive of Aberdeen Performing Arts.

Mr Hendry said: “I am hugely excited at taking on this new challenge.”
