New bridge to open after funds drive

A NEW bridge is set to be unveiled by community campaigners in West Lothian.

The crossing, at Lanthorn Community Complex, Dedridge, opens on Friday after a fundraising campaign by Dedridge Environment Ecology Project.

The group was formed with the intention of breathing new life into Dedridge pond and the nearby woodland following a 50,000 grant from property firm Land Securities. Working alongside West Lothian Council, the group has already made the wood more accessible and a two-metre footpath has been created around the pond.
