Mystery Miles tour founder wins award

THE founder of the city tour Mystery Miles has won a top Scottish tourism award for excellent customer service.

Alasdair Couzens, who scooped the Moffat Award, has also written two 12-page booklets featuring self-guided walking trails around St Andrews and more recently the Royal Mile in Edinburgh.

He has helped visitors of all ages explore the local area while tackling a series of playful puzzles to solve a light-hearted murder mystery.

Couzens, who lives in Edinburgh, launched Mystery Miles in March 2010 with a marketing test grant from The Prince's Scottish Youth Business Trust and hopes to replicate the concept across the country.

Congratulating the winners, PSYBT chief executive, Mark Strudwick, said "Thanks to the Moffat Charitable Trust we are able to support young people and help create a culture of entrepreneurship and enterprise in our tourism industry."
