Music talents feast on own record label

STUDENTS from Jewel & Esk College are set to launch their own record label.

Feast Records will provide a platform for up-and-coming student bands, as well as forming an integral part of the HND music business and sound production courses.

Supported by the college, the label will also help the bands with professional development, marketing and booking gigs.

The signed bands will receive full use of the college’s recording and production facilities.

Jon Buglass, head of the centre for creative industries at the college, said: “The label is all about supporting emerging talent and giving them their first taste of the music industry.

“The creative industries team have been trying to get the project running for some time and it’s extremely rewarding to finally see it all come together.”

A launch event will be held at Electric Circus on Friday and will see Feast’s debut signing, Maydays, take to the stage.
