Museum will open on time

PROJECT bosses have insisted the revamp of the National Museum is "on time and on budget".

The Chambers Street museum is due to reopen on July 29 following a 46.4 million redevelopment that has included creating a new street-level entrance hall, two new restaurants, new shops and other public facilities.

A spokeswoman told the Evening News that everything was on track to be completed in time and with no funding shortfall.

The redevelopment has also seen the fitting of new glass lifts, escalators and staircases.
