The family of Maria McClymont, 50, have reportedly flown out to the Middle Eastern emirate to make arrangements.
Ms McClymont, who is from the Capital, was allegedly stabbed at her home in the Golden Sands 2 complex by a man she had been helping to find a job.
Her family said the culprit, who stole her jewellery and is still on the run, was a Syrian she had become friends with.
Maria's mother, Mary Richmond, was in Dubai with relatives last night. Younger sister Sheena Aitken, of Dalkeith, said: "We will bury Maria in Dubai, so that we can visit her resting place and so can her children."
Maria's body lay in her apartment for four days before concierge staff found her. She had moved to Dubai in December from Saudi Arabia, where she had lived for over 20 years.
