The body of a man was found in a flat in Kenmure Street, Pollokshields, around 9.50am on Thursday.

Following a post-mortem examination, police are now treating his death as murder. Det Insp Mark Henderson, from the Major Investigation Team, said: “The man, whose identity has yet to be fully established due to the level of decomposition, met a violent death. We believe that his body had been within the house for a couple of weeks.

“Whilst we are yet to establish the identity of the man, one line of inquiry is that body of the man could be that of the householder, Gordon Bolam. However, this cannot yet be confirmed. Relatives have been informed of this possible line of inquiry.

“To establish the circumstances, we are anxious to hear of any information or whereabouts of the householder Gordon Bolam. He was not reported missing to police but I am sure someone must have noticed him not being in the area.

“What we need to know, other than who did this and why, is to establish Mr Bolam’s movements recently and ascertain where he has been in the last few weeks.

“If you have seen or had any contact with Mr Bolam in the last three weeks or so, then please give police a call.”
