Murder hunt over teen death

A murder inquiry is under way after the body of a teenager was found in the street.

The body of Jack Doyle, 17, was discovered behind houses on Hope Street near to Antigua Street in Greenock, Inverclyde, at about 9:45am on Tuesday. Following a post-mortem yesterday Strathclyde Police said the death of the teenager, from Greenock, was being treated as murder.

Officers are appealing for information to establish the victim’s last movements.

Detective Chief Inspector Duncan Sloan, who is heading the investigation said: “Inquiries have told us there was a report of a disturbance and blood found earlier in the morning near to where Jack’s body was found.
