Murder bid trial collapses

A MURDER bid accused walked free from court yesterday when the Crown dropped the case against him – after admitting they couldn’t find the victim.

Richard Lambert, 30, was due to go on trial for the attempted murder of Geoffrey Wells after an alleged dispute over Lambert’s pet rat.

But the High Court in Perth was told that the Crown had no idea where Mr Wells was living and could not even confirm that he was still alive at all.
