MSPs’ attempt at dancing are strictly for charity

TWO MSPs will be among those putting on their dancing shoes for charity at Edinburgh’s Assembly Rooms tonight.

The SNP’s Keith Brown and Christina McKelvie will take part in Strictly Come Prancing to raise money for Aberlour Child Care Trust.

Based on the hit TV series Strictly Come Dancing, the fundraising event is the culmination of three months’ ballroom training for the pair and other couples from local communities.

They will battle it out in front of an audience at the recently refurbished Assembly Rooms this evening,

The MGA Academy of Performing Arts has provided the participants with free dance instruction in the run-up to the event.

Mr Brown said: “The live event will be a fantastic night of dancing, entertainment and I’m looking forward to tearing up the dance floor, hopefully not literally.”

Karen McMurrich, director of marketing for Aberlour, said: “Strictly Come Prancing is a novel and important fundraising event for Aberlour. Fundraising events are vital to us as they enable Aberlour to continue to fund our work with children, young people and their families.”
