MSP in NHS payment row

A LOTHIANS MSP has called for action from the Scottish Government after an NHS Lothian plan intended to reduce reliance on the private sector was rejected.

The health board wanted to pay its own staff to work extra shifts, rather than relying on private firm Medinet. But the Government and other health boards rejected the plan.

Labour’s Sarah Boyack said: “We need to see positive engagement from the Scottish Government to find a solution to address the waiting times backlog within the budgets they have set.”
