MSP leads debate on Green Bank

NEW Edinburgh Central SNP MSP Marco Biagi will tonight lead the first member's debate in the new parliament by highlighting how much it would mean to the Capital if the UK Government agrees to locate the Green Investment Bank here.

He said the city would receive a huge boost from the bank and added: "Edinburgh stands to gain a great deal if we have the Green Investment Bank, not just in terms of direct investment, but also the vote of confidence it would give.

"Edinburgh should be the natural location for both finance and low-carbon industries instead of people looking to London, Frankfurt or Zurich."

It is estimated the bank would mean 50-100 highly-skilled jobs.

All the political parties have thrown their weight behind the move to bring the institution to the Capital.
