MSP in dairy farmer plea

SCOTTISH Green MSP Alison Johnstone is urging government ministers to do more to help Scotland’s dairy farmers.

The Lothian MSP recently met with Donald Laird, of Bonaly-Fairfield Farm Dairy, to hear first-hand the issues the sector is facing.

She said: “It’s encouraging to see the planned cuts shelved but I’m afraid these ruthless retail giants will continue to flog staple items such as milk for pennies to lure customers in. While I welcome the efforts being made by the Scottish Government, they need to face some home truths about their love of supermarkets.”
