MP joins in advice fight

EDINBURGH East Labour MP Sheila Gilmore has pledged her support for the future of funding for the Citizens Advice service.

At an event held at Westminster, Ms Gilmore joined other politicians signing a pledge to support the service indefinitely.

She said: “Funding cuts pose a significant threat to the Citizens Advice Bureau’s capacity to provide help to those who need it.

“There is real concern that cuts to funding in Scotland will also reduce the number of people who can be helped, even as demand rises.”
