Mountain fall kills Edinburgh scientist

A SCIENTIST from Edinburgh has been killed while climbing on Ben Lui, near Tyndrum.

Dr Timothy Garn, 27, a postdoctoral researcher in extragalactic astrophysics at the Royal Observatory of Edinburgh, fell more than 300ft near the summit.

Weather conditions at the time of the accident on Sunday were described by Central Scotland Police as "atrocious".
