Motorcyclist dies after being thrown from bike in crash

A MAN has died after being thrown from his motorbike in Glasgow.

It is understood his bike clipped the side of a Ford Galaxy travelling in the same direction in Albert Drive in Pollokshields at around 8.15pm on Thursday.

Emergency services attended the crash scene, but the rider, in his 30s, died at the scene.

The driver of the Ford Galaxy was uninjured and no other vehicles or people were involved in the crash.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “At around 8.15pm on Thursday, a motorcycle travelling on Albert Drive in Pollokshields, Glasgow, appeared to have clipped the side of a Ford Galaxy also travelling east which resulted in the rider being thrown from the bike.

“Ambulance service attended but the man, who is in his 30s, died at the scene.

“The male driver of the Ford Galaxy was not injured.

“No other vehicles or persons were involved in the crash.”
