Motorcyclist dies in A9 collision

A MOTORCYCLIST has died in a crash with a 4x4, police said today.

The man's Yamaha bike was involved in a collision with the pick-up vehicle on the notorious A9 Perth to Inverness road this morning.

The accident happened near the junction with the unclassified road leading to the B9099 Luncarty road.

Tayside Police said the motorcyclist, who is thought to be from the local area, died at the scene.

The driver of the silver Isuzu 4x4 was uninjured following the crash, which happened around 7.20am today.

The road at the scene of the accident has been closed to allow investigations to be carried out.

Police said they would like to speak to anyone who might have seen the accident, including the driver of a black Vauxhall Corsa who stopped at the scene to help.
