Mother’s appeal as fears grow for teenager

FEARS are growing for a vulnerable teenage girl who has been missing since Hogmanay.

Naomi Gallagher was last seen at her grandmother’s home in Helensburgh.

Yesterday, her mother, Karen McGonagle, appealed for her daughter to get in touch, saying she had disappeared before but never for such a long time.

“Originally with it being Hogmanay and Naomi being Naomi, I wasn’t too concerned, but as time’s progressed it’s becoming a worry. Unfortunately she has been known of a night to come back late or stay out, but she always came back the next day and has never stayed away so long.

“She’s not in trouble, I just want her to get in touch and let us know she is OK.”

Chief Inspector Andy Hutton, at Dumbarton, said: “We believe that although Naomi was last seen on Hogmanay, she has been in touch with friends since then and I would ask those she may have been in contact with to call the police.”
