More room for hotel business

A MAJOR hotelier has spent more than £18 million on two new hotels in the city centre.

Travelodge has created 40 jobs at the sites in Princes Street and Queen Street.

The 96-room Princes Street branch stretches to four storeys above Topshop and cost £10m. Meanwhile, the 85-room Queen Street hotel cost £8.5m.

Travelodge now has 13 hotels in the Capital.

Managing director Paul Harvey said: “As Edinburgh’s largest hotelier, we are delighted to be opening a further two new hotels in the city centre.”
