More bridge jobs on way

A CITY workforce is set to benefit from sub-contracted work on the Forth Replacement Crossing project.

The principal contractor for the project, Forth Crossing Bridge Constructors (FCBC), has awarded multiple orders for materials and equipment required for concrete production on the project to Tarmac, which has facilities in South Gyle and Livingston.

Colin Keir, SNP MSP for Edinburgh Western, said that the addition of two more Scottish operations to the list of 118 who are already working on the new Forth crossing was very welcome.

He said: “I’m particularly pleased that South Gyle in my constituency will be among the beneficiaries.

“The project will support 1200 Scottish jobs and secure an additional 3000.”
