Moped rider in hospital after bus crash

A MOPED rider has been taken to hospital with a serious pelvic injury following a collision with a double decker bus.

Emergency services were called to the incident at the junction of Craighouse Gardens and Myreside Road, in Morningside, at 4.45pm yesterday.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: “Police in Edinburgh are investigating after a serious road collision between a bus and 50cc moped on Craighouse Road at around 4:45pm on Wednesday October 15.

“A 17-year-old man who was riding the motorcycle suffered a serious pelvic injury and was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary where he continues to be treated.

“Enquiries are ongoing at this stage and we are appealing to any witnesses to come forward.”

The biker was taken to the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary for further treatment, according to spokesperson for the Scottish Ambulance Service.
