Mobile phone found in search for missing woman

A MOBILE phone belonging to a woman who went missing after visiting her parents in Glasgow two months ago has been discovered in a bin in Ayrshire, police said.

Lynda Zefaj, 27, has not been seen since 13 April.

The phone was discovered in a wheelie bin in Holmhead, Kilbirnie, on Thursday 2 June.

Her silver Vauxhall Astra car was also spotted in the Ayrshire area on Wednesday 20 April. It was seen on the A77 at Floak with a damaged wing mirror.

Ms Zefaj, also known as Lynda Spence or Lynda Palmer, was last seen by her parents at about 6pm on 13 April, when she left their flat in Partick.

The next day her mother received a text from her daughter's phone saying she had gone to London.

Strathclyde Police Detective Superintendent Alan Buchanan said: "Lynda has not been missing before and it is totally out of character for her not to contact her family."
