Missing Skye man in hospital after ravine rescue

A MAN reported missing on Skye has been rescued from the bottom of a deep ravine after his car was spotted by a member of the public.

Bruce Parker, 44, from Portree was airlifted to Broadford Hospital on the island with a number of fractures, but his injuries are not life threatening.

Mr Parker was located following an appeal for sightings of his blue Seat Leon car.

A member of the public reported seeing the vehicle parked in an area north of Portree at around 8.45pm on Thursday.

Police officers attended and quickly located the 44-year-old at the bottom of the ravine.

Mr Parker, who speaks with a mild London accent, was reported missing having not been seen since Wednesday afternoon at about 3.30pm.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “We would like to thank members of the public for their assistance.”
