Missing sex offender arrested

Gary Travers, 36, from Wishaw, who has convictions for serious sexual offences involving women , was arrested in Edinburgh yesterday afternoon.

Strathclyde Police had said there was a “considerable risk” that Travers will reoffend.

It is understood Travers might have breached the terms of his release which is why police started searching for him.

The force worked with Lothian and Borders Police after enquiries showed Travers was in the Leith area of Edinburgh.
