Missing man’s family told of dead body find

Dental and DNA checks are to be carried out to identify a body found on rocks along a Highland coast.

The discovery was made by a member of the public on the shoreline betweeen Avoch and Fortrose on the Black Isle just before noon yesterday.

A Northern Constabulary spokesman said the corpse was badly decomposed.

The body was found almost two months after 28-year-old Alan Watson fell into the River Ness, in Inverness. Mr Watson’s family in Inverness have been told of the discovery.
