Missing Japanese tourist, 29, found dead on Skye

THE BODY of a missing Japanese man on holiday in Skye has been found by police.

Twenty-nine-year-old Kamai Yusuke was reported missing after last being seen in Portree on Saturday morning at 8.30am.

Mr Yusuke’s body was discovered in the Trotternish Ridge area of the island yesterday.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: “Police in Skye can confirm following a report from a member of the public, sadly the body of a man was recovered in the Trotternish Ridge area on Tuesday.”

“There are no suspicious circumstances and next of kin has been informed. Police would like to thank search and rescue personnel, members of the public and the media for their assistance.”

A French tourist, Thierry Coffie, has also been reported missing. Multiple search-and-rescue teams, including the Skye and RAF mountain rescue teans and the Maritime and Coastguard Agency, have been dispatched to Sgurr a Mhadaich and Sgurr a Greadidh to search for Mr Coffie.
