Mine blown up by Navy team

THE Royal Navy's explosive ordnance disposal team have detonated what had been thought to be a live mine in the Firth of Forth.

The mine, which turned out to be an inactive UK practice mine dating back to the Second World War, was netted by a fishing vessel on Monday afternoon.

The disposal team performed a controlled explosion at around 11:30am yesterday.
