Midfielder set to lose out as house prices slump

CELTIC captain Scott Brown is selling the luxury home in Cramond he bought for £1,475,000 five years ago for a £250,000 loss.

The Scotland international shares the five-bedroom property with his wife Lisa and son Shay, but has put it on the market for £1,225,000.

Estate agent Rettie described the home as a “state of the art family house utilising the best in contemporary design, fixtures and fittings”.

The house boasts four reception rooms, four bathrooms, a triple garage and large gardens.

It also has under-floor heating throughout, a lighting system operated by keypads which allows lighting themes to be deigned to suit your mood, and a surround sound system.

The sales brochure added: “The property has been finished to an extremely high specification with luxury additions that contribute to the practical comfort of the house.”

Brown, 27, bought the property shortly after signing for Celtic from Hibs for a £4.4 million fee.

It is thought he may be looking for a new base nearer his club’s training ground in Lennoxtown, Dunbartonshire.

Research released earlier this month by Lloyds TSB showed that house prices in Edinburgh fell on average by 7.1 per cent in the last three months, but remain the most expensive in Scotland.
