Merc stolen from drive

THIEVES broke into a house to steal the keys to a Mercedes before making off with the car from the driveway.

A set of keys to a black Mercedes CL55 AMG were stolen during the break-in at Mayfield Terrace, in Newington, between 10.30pm on Sunday and 7.30am on Monday.

Detectives said they were keen to hear from anyone who was in the area and saw anything suspicious.

They said the owner was extremely distressed.
