Memorial space given a makeover

GREEN-FINGERED staff at an Edinburgh-based insurance provider have helped to restore a local memorial garden to its former glory.

The Bright Grey employees worked with conservation charity New Caledonian Woodlands to transform the garden at Gorgie Memorial Hall last Thursday.

The garden features wildlife-friendly shrubs, a bark footpath and raised beds which will be used by children to grow flowers and vegetables.

Customer support consultant for Bright Grey, Josh Turner, said: "Having recently avoided closure, the Memorial Hall needs all the help it can get from the local community.

"Restoring the garden has been hard work, especially as we had very little experience of gardening. But it has also been hugely rewarding and we hope it brings a lot of pleasure to the children and families who use it."
