Memorial love’s like a red, red rose

Hadika Zaman, five, from Craigentinny, was among those laying floral wreaths at a temporary memorial at the City Chambers set up to celebrate Language Martyrs Day and International Mother Language Day.

The tribute was organised by Bangladesh Samity Edinburgh and the city council to mark a day which represents the sacrifice made by the people of Bangladesh on February 21, 1952, to establish the rights of their mother tongue, Bangla.
